I’ll get the ball rolling with a natural chronic urticaria treatment method which I tried. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, but as I explained above it may work for you, so hear go’s.

Cats Claw

No that doesn’t mean an actual cat’s claw. Cats claw in this case refers to a supplement which I heard was very beneficial for many immune related conditions, some say it even helps people with cancer, but who knows.

Here’s a quick description of the supplement and where it’s derived from

Cats claw is taken from the roots of a Peruvian vine. The vine is known to be rich in alkaloid compounds that provide natural nutritional support for a healthy immune system. The recommended dosage is 2 500mg supplements a day (that’s what was stated on the supplement packaging I used).

I could write a few paragraphs on how this supplement is supposed to help you & how it could be considered as a chronic urticaria treatment but I figured there is already much written about Cats Claw, so instead I’m linking to the following article – WebMD

Although the article linked too does not talk specifically about cats claw being used as a chronic urticaria treatment it does talk about how the herb may be beneficial for people suffering with immune problem and inflammation.

Chronic Urticaria Treatment – Did it work for you?

Cats claw didn’t work for me but it might for you. It might work better still if combined with something else. Let us know your thoughts on using cat’s claw as a chronic urticaria treatment, plus share your natural urticaria treatment methods here for everyone to see.

Get rid of hives

Guest Post By: William

How can I get rid of hives?” If you have ever asked yourself that question, you must know how difficult it is to find a workable solution for this problem. This article will list natural remedies, types of medical treatment and presentational means that you can use to successfully get rid of hives at home.

Medically known as uriticaria, hives are an itchy, red skin rash that appears on your skin that may disappear and reappear elsewhere several times throughout the day. From small pen-sized patches to rashes that cover large areas of your body, this condition is a source of huge discomfort, and arms, legs, neck, armpits, and abdomen are the most likely spots of its onset.

If you want to know how you can get rid of hives, keep reading for some of the steps that can help you alleviate your problem.

Chronic Hives

When the most glaring symptoms of the condition are present daily for over six weeks, it’s considered to be a case of chronic hives. The situation is made more complicated by the fact that doctors are often unable to pinpoint the underlying issues that have prompted the rash, in which case the causes are labeled as idiopathic.

The most straightforward and effective way of getting rid of hives from the comfort of your home is resolving the problem that caused it in the first place.

How Can I Get Rid of Hives Caused by Allergies?

A very likely cause of hives is an allergic reaction. To deal with such cases, you should try to eliminate the reason for your allergies. Be it food, drinks, a pet, someone’s perfume, chemical substances in the air or something else entirely, take active steps to avoid it. Alternatively, you can take anti-allergic medication prescribed by a doctor.

However, not all cases are as easy to deal with. There is no simple answer to treating idiopathic uriticaria, because every individual case is different and requires its own unique solution. To get rid of hives that are brought on by causes you’re not specifically aware of, you can try some of the following forms of treatment.

Natural Remedies to get rid of hives

Oils are known to provide some relief to the strong itching sensation usually caused by hives. The soothing effect of sandalwood, lavender and chamomile will make a big difference to those who have suffered from this condition for a prolonged amount of time.

Another useful advice for those who want to know how can they get rid of hives naturally is to pay more attention to your diet. Uriticaria outbreaks are usually brought on by a disturbance in the bacterial balance of your body, and resolving it can provide an effective remedial effect.

Medical Urticaria Treatment

Even though the medical solution to each case can be very different, using both ranitidine and cetirizine has show to provide a lasting solution to get rid of hives. Prednisone is also mentioned as an effective medication for hive treatment, but the side effects that present themselves after its prolonged use deter most people from its continued use.

If you’re going for a soothing effect, antihistamines can effectively decrease swelling and redness, saving you from the incredibly strong itching that plagues most people who suffer from hives.

Prevention of Hives

Make sure that you avoid the following things that can potentially cause hives.

  • Sudden changes of temperature.
  • Excessive use of alcohol.
  • Using too much medications, such as aspirin.
  • Insufficient sleep and stress.
  • Extreme changes of your usual diet.

Since 20% of people are subjected to an outbreak of hives at some point in their lives, it’s important to minimize their risk at all times. Keep your immune system strong and have a balanced diet that would supply your body’s natural defence mechanisms with all the required nutrients and vitamins. Heed this advice and you will never have to ask how can you get rid of hives.

Guest Post By: amit

Get rid of hivesHives or urticaria are itchy bumps on the skin that is often caused by allergic reactions. Aside from conventional treatments of urticaria, like taking anti-histamines, there are lots of alternatives that are easy, affordable and have no side effects. So ask yourself, how do I get rid of hives the natural way?

Get rid of hives the natural way

The first thing to do to get rid of hives is to identify what causes and triggers hives and find means to eliminate it as soon as possible.

Herbal remedies can also be considered as a way to get rid of hives. As it is known that a lot of herbs have natural anti-histamine content that can help with urticaria, you need to drink teas made with basil, tarragon, thyme, fennel and chamomile. Also, try drinking green tea as it has anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine that can help reduce hives and other skin allergies. Ginger is also well-known for its anti-inflammatory content. Drink about 5 milliliters of freshly squeezed ginger or mix ginger powder with water.

There are also lots of essential oils that can be used to relieve itch and irritated skin caused by hives. To relieve itching, wash the skin with water and apply about 2 drops of chamomile or lavender oil. Also consider using flaxseed oil or linseed oil. Mix about two parts of any of these oils with one part of dissolved campor then apply to the affected area.

It is best to cool the skin by directly applying cool compresses on the affected area. By doing this, it can reduce the swelling on the skin. Apply ice cubes or ice pack directly to the hives. The cold can take away the itch and it is also proven that ice repel histamines.

Hives is extremely itchy, and a good way to relieve the itching is to use corn starch and baking soda that can be found in your own kitchen. Add about half a cup of corn starch and half a cup of the baking soda to a warm bath. Soak in the bath several times per day and it would definitely relieve the itching caused by hives. Or make a paste by using 2 cups of oatmeal with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch and add a little water. Apply it on the affected areas for about 15 – 30 minutes. It dries those itchy hives in a couple of hours.

If skin gets to dry apply aloe vera gel, it is great way to use for moisturizing. It prevents the skin from drying. It has anti microbial properties that kills bacteria and has anti inflammatory content that helps on reducing skin inflammation. Unscented baby oil can also be used if the skin gets broken due to excessive scratching. Do not use creams or anti itch lotion that has not been prescribed by the dermatologist. It can only worsen the hives and can even cause allergic reactions.

Hives can also be caused by tight fitting clothes. It would be advisable to wear clothes made from cotton or natural fiber as latex or nylon can trigger the skin condition.

These are natural and often effective methods which can be used in an attempt to get rid of hives.
